A Philadelphia shooting suspect was apprehended on Sept. 21 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bedford County.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, 31-year-old Amir Rouse was arrested after a vehicle pursuit began around 12:30 a.m. near mile marker 188 on the turnpike.
Rouse was wanted in connection to a Philadelphia shooting investigation.
According to the affidavit, Rouse’s vehicle reached speeds of up to 130 mph during the pursuit before he crashed into a sign on the Breezewood Interchange.
Rouse initially refused to leave his vehicle, causing the Breezewood exit to be shut down for safety concerns, according to the affidavit.
After speaking with an officer via cellphone, Rouse left the vehicle and was taken into custody. He was treated for injuries at UPMC Bedford.
Police allegedly found a baggie and two jars containing suspected marijuana in the vehicle.
Rouse has been charged with third-degree felony fleeing and 13 summary offenses.
He was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Kevin R. Diehl, of Bedford, and was sent to the Bedford County Correctional Facility in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 4 before Diehl.
