The 52nd annual Mountain Craft Days are coming back on Friday for 3 days of celebration of our Southwestern Pennsylvanian history and heritage.
The festival includes traditional crafts and artisans, mountain food and lively entertainment.
Some of the crafts you'll get to see are shoemaking, blacksmithing, coopering, tinsmithing and much more.
“The crafts were becoming lost," said Mark Ware, executive director for the Somerset County Historical Society. "We're trying to keep those early crafts going, and it’s been our mission in all those years to find new artisans. We even have a program to train people to pick up some of the lost arts that aren’t practiced that much anymore.”
Admission to the festival can be purchased at the gate for 9 dollars. Parking is free and no pets are permitted.
Proceeds from the festival go towards the Somerset County Historical Center.
