Robertsdale man charged with nearly 1K counts of child porn; saved AI images of sex abuse
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a Huntingdon County man is facing more the 950 child pornography-related charges following a state police investigation.
According to the affidavit, in August, police served a search warrant on 55-year-old Barry Julian Sr.’s Wood Township home and seized dozens of devices.
Troopers began investigating Julian following accusations that he and a relative had sexually abused a female juvenile.
Investigators say troopers later spoke to the relative, who denied the accusations and claimed that Julien had various sexually explicit images stored on his devices, including images of his own female relatives.

DeKALB COUNTY, Ala. — In what the local sheriff calls a 'disgraceful act,' an Alabama woman faces dozens of charges after he says she was caught on camera stealing handmade Decoration Day flowers from a loved one's gravesite.
This happened last week, when a family member noticed her decorations had been stolen. She set up cameras to catch the crook in the act, and in the early morning hours caught 69-year-old Martha Jane Bowes stealing 2 new sets of handmade floral arrangements from a headstone, according to a release from the DeKalb County, Alabama Sheriff's Office.
I-99 fatal crash victim ID'd as Centre County Deputy Coroner

The Blair County Coroner has identified the I-99 crash victim as Judith Pleskonko, 69, of Philipsburg.
According to first responders in Centre County, Plesonko was the acting Centre County Deputy Coroner.
Investigators say Pleskonko was reportedly traveling in the southbound lane on I-99 and was involved in a separate crash just moments before being struck.
State police say Pleskonko's vehicle, after the initial crash, crossed into the northbound lane through an emergency crossover and came to rest in the northbound lane facing south.

Pirates' Jung Ho Kang investigated for sexual assault claim
CHICAGO (AP) Chicago police said Tuesday that they are investigating an allegation of sexual assault against Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang.
In a statement, police said a 23-year-old female reported being assaulted by Kang inside a hotel. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the Chicago woman met Kang through a dating app. Kang invited the woman to his hotel room on June 17, after the Pirates played the Cubs.
The woman said she blacked out, then drifted in and out of consciousness as he sexually assaulted her.

Car crashes into Centre County liquor store
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A car crashed into a Centre County liquor store Thursday evening.
Crews were called to the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store located at 127 Southridge Plaza in College Township.
It's unclear if anyone was injured or how much damage the building sustained.

Clerk took an extra $800+ for each transaction in $3 million title fraud scheme, cops say
DORAL, Fla. (TND) — The clerk at an auto tag agency near Miami is facing three dozen felonies in what's being called a $3 million title fraud scheme.
Prosecutors say that scheme started unraveling when “a stolen vehicle pinging inside the bay of a local auto shop” got the attention of police in the suburb of Doral.
That was back on Jan. 12.
Detectives executed a search warrant and found three stolen luxury vehicles: a 2022 Lamborghini Urus, a 2023 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, and a 2021 Mercedes-Benz G550, as well as two fraudulent VIN plates.
Coroner IDs victim of deadly Adams Township fire
UPDATE | CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — During a press conference Thursday morning, Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees identified the victim of Wednesday's fatal house fire in Adams Township.
Lees said officials identified the victim, via dental records, as 47-year-old April Baxendale.
Investigators say Baxendale died as a result of toxic smoke and gas inhalation, as well as thermal injuries, including burns on 75-percent of her body.
Authorities say Baxendale and a relative were reportedly sleeping in a portable tent, in the first-floor living area of their Mount Airy Drive residence, when flames broke out.
