CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The motorist who says he was assaulted by state police prior to his arrest in Centre County could be facing even more criminal charges stemming from the high-speed chase that police say happened before he was arrested.
“They're trying to kill me, keeping me locked up.”
Dereck Raimey returned to the Centre County Prison this week after his bail was doubled to $100,000.
The decision followed a hearing in which his attorney is challenging whether state police had probable cause to charge Raimey last December while he was driving on Interstate 80.

REEDLEY, Calif. (KMPH) — It's graduation season, and one graduate overcame the odds to be at his high school commencement on Thursday.
Two years ago, Malachi Rios was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer that spread to his lungs. After fighting the cancer for a year and a half, the Reedley High School senior was able to walk at his graduation.
He played for the Reedley Football team his junior year but stopped playing two games into his senior season to start chemotherapy in San Francisco.

PSP IDs couple killed in 3-vehicle crash on Route 220 in Centre Co.
UPDATE:CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — State police have identified the two people killed in Tuesday's three-vehicle crash in Centre County.
Troopers say Harry and Meredith Dillon, both age 69 and from Tyrone, were traveling northbound along Route 220, also known as South Eagle Valley Road, when their vehicle crossed the center line, for unknown reasons.
Investigators say they struck the driver's side of one vehicle before colliding head-on into another.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A store owner has been arrested and charged with murder after fatally shooting a 14-year-old he thought was stealing from his store, according to deputies. Rick Chow, 58, owner of a Shell Gas Station shot and killed Cyrus Carmack-Belton Sunday, the Richland County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies said the incident began inside the gas station after Chow thought Carmack-Belton was stealing from his store. Investigators found that to be false.
California wildlife officials remove mountain lion from shed after it eats turkey
Hesperia, CA — In Southern California, a mountain lion caused quite the scare for a family after devouring their turkey.
After its meal, the mountain lion then took a nap in their shed, forcing the family to call wildlife control.
"He was literally laying in the middle of the shed,” says homeowner Judy Vasquez.

(TND) — Child care workers are calling in sick or closing shop Monday to call attention to what they say is an industry in crisis.
They’re demanding better wages and affordable, equitable child care.
Community Change Action’s third-annual National Day Without Child Care features over 1,000 child care providers and parents at dozens of events planned across 26 states.
“I would say our child care system is in a state of crisis,” said Taryn Morrissey, an expert outside observer to Monday’s National Day Without Child Care.
Everett RR Company hosting special excursion event to benefit K4 restoration project
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — As we told you on Thursday, the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona will be hosting a special event to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the K4 1361 steam locomotive rolling out of the Altoona production shops.
The museum currently has a fundraising campaign underway to cover the restoration costs.
Another railroading heritage site, the Everett Railroad Company, is stepping up to help by offering passengers a special steam excursion.
