BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Thursday morning, Anthony Makarikas came to the Bedford County Correctional Facility as a visitor after he was an inmate there for three years. "Today, for me, it's a part of growth. Coming here is part of growth for me," Makarikas told 6 News. Anthony is now married, bought a house, and works as a cook at a restaurant. I found somebody that actually gave me a chance.

Centre County cemetery to honor fallen veterans on Memorial Day

Volunteers for the Union Cemetery in Bellefonte are preparing to honor fallen veterans this Memorial Day. They spent part of their Thursday at the Brockerhoff House making approximately 30 wreaths that will be placed on veterans’ gravestones ahead of Memorial Day. Those veterans died in the line of duty. They plan on laying the wreaths this coming Tuesday morning. Volunteers said it's very important for all of us to honor and remember those who fought for our freedom.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — An inmate at SCI Houtzdale is facing new charges after authorities say he admitted to killing his cellmate earlier this year. More charges filed against PSU professor accused of lewd acts at public park
