State withdraws charges in overdose death of Clearfield Co. woman
Clearfield, PA — According to court documents, last year 27-year-old Donna Smith died from a drug overdose in a home on Carson Avenue in DuBois.
Authorities said Patrick O'Brien was charged in her death facing multiple charges including drug possession with intent to deliver and delivery resulting in death.
But after the discovery of new evidence, authorities said those charges are off of the table.

Theft at laundromat leaves owner wanting prosecutors to be tougher on crime; DA responds
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A Somerset County man is facing 10 theft charges, including one felony charge, as well as escape charges, after escaping custody last week.
John Wortman allegedly took delivery packages from the front porch of several homes in Somerset Borough, according to Somerset County district attorney Molly Metzgar. She alleges he also attempted to break into a lottery ticket machine at a gas station.
Authorities said Wortman asked a judge to allow him to receive treatment at a rehab facility instead of a sentence in this case.

DA IDs man accused of shooting, killing woman during early morning domestic dispute
2nd UPDATE |Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer has confirmed the identity of the suspect accused of shooting and killing a 38-year-old woman early Saturday morning in Johnstown.
Authorities say Michael Lyles Jr. was taken into custody shortly after the shooting occurred and faces homicide and other related charges.
Investigators say Lyles is being held at the Cambria County Prison and there is no danger to the public.
LCB says no liquor license for Sheetz located next to 2 Centre County schools
WINGATE, Pa. (WJAC) — A Centre County judge has upheld a state liquor control board decision not to grant a liquor license to a Sheetz store that's located next to schools in the Bald Eagle Area School District.
The Sheetz on South Eagle Valley Road in Wingate is located next to an elementary school and high school.
Sheetz appealed the LCB decision.
In rejecting the appeal, the judge cited the fact that the store is located next to not one but two school buildings.

PA priest accused of stealing $40K from church; using money to play games on his phone
South Coventry, PA — A Pennsylvania catholic priest is accused of stealing $40,000 from a Chester County parish and using that money to play games on his cell phone.
Police say Lawrence Kozak has been charged with theft and other related crimes.
Authorities say he reportedly racked up tens of thousands of dollars in expenses over three years and used some of that cash to play cell phone games like Candy Crush Saga and Pokémon Go.
